We recently attended the 30th Navdex Naval Defence & Maritime Security Exhibition in Abu Dhabi. Navdex is the largest Defence Expo in the Middle East showcasing the latest technology across land, sea & air. Covering 12 exhibition halls, a live demonstration area and waterside exhibits, the exhibition attracts over 100,000 visitors from across the world. 

HamiltonJet was well represented on the water by Al Fattan, who featured 2 x 18m Patrol Boats fitted with HTX42 jets and their 20m Swift Trooper Patrol Landing Craft with twin HM461 jets. Abu Dhabi Shipbuilding worked until the week before the exhibition to get their 16m Hybrid & Autonomous Mine Detection Craft ready, fitted with HJ403 jets & ESCO Parallel Hybrid Drive finished, and this was shown alongside the HJ403 17m Patrol Boat. Other vessels included Streit Marines HJX27 Security Boat.  

The exhibition was a great success with Abu Dhabi Shipbuilding firming an order for 10 x 17m Patrol Boats & Al Fattan received a request to build some 6m USV’s, which will be fitted with a single HamiltonJet.
