Sea trials for the first pilot boat in China built with our HTX range of Jets and AVX controls were carried out by Aurora Shipyard with the end user personnel from the Ningbo Pilot Station in attendance. A pair of HTX42s driven by 368kW engines each resulted in the vessel exceeding the predicted speed to hit 23 knots.

The end users were extremely pleased with this Camarc-designed pilot boat, with the performance of our jets and control system. They have already come back to us for revised pricing for jets as they plan to build more of these boats for their operations. The first vessel of this design was equipped with competitor jets and it took almost two years to win the end user over by building confidence in our jet performance and local service and support. In a country where we are newcomers in the commercial vessel space, especially in applications for our mid and large-sized jets, this is a major win.

'Thank you' to our manufacturing, marketing and logistics teams at the factory for seeing this project through a rough delivery with countless challenges during the COVID period. Key to this success is the sales team at our distributors in China, Shanghai Ocean, who were at the forefront of this sale to Aurora and the end user.
